Prof. Bengi Semerci attended to the panel that was held by Istanbul University’s Faculty of Law’s Law Society’s human rights commission for International Women’s Day. The discussion concentrated on the law and legislation of women violence prevention and were attended by faculty member Tuba Kelep, Istanbul Bar Association women’s rights’ member Gülen Köse and Office of the High Commissioner on Human Rights’ member Fatma Benli. Moreover, society’s perspective on women, the social roles for men and women, and the importance of the society’s cognitive transitions were implied. Panel lasted with Prof. Bengi Semerci’s speech focusing on the importance of women violence prevention for men’s rights and wishing this to be the last panel to speak about the violence against women.
